A Tanzanian imperial malaya garnet with a subtle color shift depending on lighting from red to an orangish-red. This was the center stone from a substantial parcel of rough. In contrast to the common trend where garnets of this size tend to be much darker, hindering the passage of light through the gem, this gem stands out in size and color. This stone has some silk and small inclusions visible.
